1. Plants and animals are both living things and need water, air, sunlight, and space.

2. A predator hunts and eats other animals.

3. Animals sometime keep each other safe by eating or scaring away animals or insects that might hurt the animals they are protecting. For example, a bird will eat bugs that might hurt the rhino. Or the ant helps the plant stay safe by biting any animal that tries to eat the plant.

4. An oil spill in the ocean can cause a food web to change. In the story, the sea otters’ fur was hurt by the oil that spilled into the ocean.

Secret Mission
1.Plants and animals need water, air and food.
2. A predator hunts and eats other animals.
3. Animals help each other get food. Sometimes animals keep each other safe. For example, a bird can eat bugs that might hurt a rhino.
4. Some changes are caused by people. Many things can change a food web. The effect from the oil spill was when the oil spilled from a ship which caused the sea otters’ fur to be hurt.
