Because the paper is getting cut.Is a salad a mixsure?Yes,because it has lettuce,cheese and all that other stuff.What causes water to turn into ice?By freezing it.What is the effect on the state of matter?It changed from a liquid into a solid.

The name of the book that I read is called Changes In Matter.1.This story just helped me realize that cool-aid dissolves into the water. 2.A physical change is something that has been changed into a different shape but is still same as what it was at first. 3.A mixture is when something that has been mixed together to make a mixture.

1. solid, liqids and gases 2.because you can’t change it back. 3.yes a salad is a mixture because you put all kinds of things in it. I read the book Changes in Matter. it was a great book. I enjoyed reading the book.

The title of the story I chose was Ways matter changes.
1. The three stages of matter are solid, liquid, and gas.
2. Some of the physical changes described in the story are water freezing, and choclate melting.
3. A mixture is created when two or more kinds of matter are put together.
4. When a candle is burned first the wax melts.It changes from solid to liquid. This is a physical change. Then it burns. This is a chemical change. The candle has changed into gases. It cannot change back into the solid candle again.It has changed chemically and is no longer the same substance.
5.The effect of mixing hot chocolate and and water was the creation of a mixture inwhich the hot choclate dissolved in the water.

Kalen-Very good job with your response. Two things: 1) When you tell why cutting paper is a physical change, I need to know why it’s considered a “physical” change and not a “chemical” change, so please look back at the definition of a physical change, and include this reasoning in your answer; 2) Yes, freezing water causes it to turn into ice, but what exactly happens to the molecules in the water as it changes from its liquid state (water) to its solid state (ice)?

1.The three states of matter are solid,liquid,and gas. 2.Cutting paper is a physical change because the cut paper is still paper,but just cut. 3. A salad is a mixture because there are all types of matter in a salad. 4. Salt water is a mixture because there are two types of matter in it and they can be seperated if you boil it you could demonstrate it by trying this yourself.

2.Cutting paper is a physical change because when the paper is cut, then the shape changes.
3.Yes, a salad is a mixture because you are adding more than one thing together.
4. Putting salt into water is a mixture. You could put the salt in the water and mix them both together and the salt would disappear. If you want to see the salt, then you could boil the salt water and let the water vaporate and the salt would be left.
5. In order to turn water into ice, when must freeze the water. The effect of this state is if we want the ice to turn back into water, then we could just add heat to the ice cube. This state could be reversiable.
