Solar System Mission
Just for Students October 17th, 2009Did you know that the change in seasons that’s causing this nice, cool weather we’re having is related to our solar system? In our study of the solar system, you’ll not only learn what causes the seasons to change, but many other interesting facts, such as why we have night and day and why the moon seems to change shape.
I invite you to get a head start by reading your choice of online books on the solar system. Login to your pearsonsuccessnet.com account, listen to the audio books, and be sure to post your Reader Response answers here, in complete sentences.

Colonial New, England was the story I read Ms.Neely
I learned that the NewEngland colonists had to make
almost everything needed.
I learned in the story they needed sheep’s wool
to make clothes.
I did not know that the boys’ shorts in New England
were called breeches.
Their houses were made of wooden boards and
thatched roofs.
The rooms they slept in are called
keeping rooms.
They grew corn and other vegetables. There were no refrigerators in 1650’s.
Wow this story was great!
It also told me important facts about the colonists.
I hope the whole class gets a chance to do the mission.

Astroides also orbit the sun. Sedna is made out of ice and rocks and is also a planet. It takes so long for planets to go around the sun, because they are far away ,and others arn’t so far away. thats why it doesn’t take so long.Nobody lives on other planets.Inner planets are closer to the sun,and the outer planets are not close to the sun.

The sun’s gravity keeps the planets
in their orbit.
Thousands of heavy rocks called
asteroids orbit the Earth too.
Mercury,Venus,Earth,and Mars
are the inner planets.
Venus has mountains,craters ,and valleys.
