The title of the story I read is “Earth’s Land, Air, and Water.”
1. Soil is made of sand, clay, and humus.
2. Three natural resources are sun, water, and air.
3. People have to be careful with campfires, because they can start forest fires and kill plants and animals.

The title of the story I read is “You Can Recycle!”
1. More than half the trash in the U.S. ends up in landfills. 25% of trash is recycled.
2. When plastic is dropped into a recycle bin, it is washed and chopped into flakes and then dried and melted. Then the melted plastic is forced through a screen to remove the toxins and form new plastic strands. The strands are cooled and chopped into pellets. These pellets are used to make such things as flower pots and carpet.
3.What are cullets ? Cullets are pieces of cut glass that are added to new material to make new glass. Cullets are cut, sorted by color and cleaned, and mixed with raw material to make new products.

The title of the story I read is “Earth’s Natural Resources.”
1. Trees are renewable resources because we can plant new trees.
2. Coal and oil are nonrewable resources because once they are used, they are gone forever.
3. You can recycle plastic juice containers, paper, aluminum, and cotton.

The title of the story that I read is “Taking Care of the Earth.”
1.I think he wrote it to INFORM the readers about what pollution does to the earth.
2.I think that you are more likely to recycle because you would know what littering will do, and if you respect the earth you wouldn’t do that.
3.When groups get together, you will see more progress than with individuals. People working together can make a greater impact.

Hello, this is Jordan Simpson. My mom and I read the story “You Can Recycle.” We learned new information we need to know about recycling.
1. We produce 210 million tons of trash each year, and more than half of our trash is thrown into landfills. 25% of our trash is recycled.
2.Plastic is washed and chopped into small flakes, toxins are removed through a screen, and pellets are made into various plastic items, like flowerpots and carpets.
3.Recycled glass is broken into small pieces, called cullets. Cullets are then crushed, sorted, and cleaned to mix with other materials to make new glass.

The title of the book is “You Can Recycle.”
I really enjoyed reading the book. I know that recycling is very important to our environment. We must all reduce, reuse, and recycle.

You Can Recycle!
1.There is still more trash in the landfills then we recycle.
2.Collectors wash and chop plastic into flakes.
3.Cullet is glass broken into small pieces. It is used with other raw materials to make new glass.
P.S. Hi Ms.Neely!

“Taking Care of the Earth” is the story I read.
I learned that you can recycle brown grocery bag paper to make fun craft paper.
We have parks from things people have recycled.
If people would get together and recycle, our environment would be better than it is now.

Taking Care of the Earth
1.The author wrote about pollution to INFORM us about how dangerous polluted air can be for us to breathe.
2.I would ask the students of Folt Middle School how many of them recycle. It’s a good thing to recycle, because it helps the environment be a better, greener place to live.
3.To show respest for the environment, I would recycle. Recycling helps the environment last longer because we reuse things we might normally throw away.
4.I think it will be better to work with others because it helps you get the job done. If you do it by yourself, it will take a long time, and if others help you it will be faster.

You Can Recycle
1) Our country produces 210 million tons of trash each year and recycles more than 25 percent of that.
2) Collectors wash and chop the plastc into flakes. The flakes are dried, melted, and forced through screens to remove toxins and form new plastic strands. The strands are cooled and chopped into pellets.
3) Cullets are small broken pieces of glass used to make more glass.
4) Recycling helps reduce the amount of new natural resources needed to make new items. Recycling reduces the amount of trash taken to landfills, which help conserve the land.
5) Both paper and aluminum are taken to recycling centers and put into bales. The aluminum is shredded and melted, while the paper is soaked in water and chemicals. They are both mixed with new aluminum or paper to make new products. Unlike aluminum, paper cannot be recycled again and again.

I read “Earth’s Natural Resources.”
1. Trees are renewable, because you can plant more trees.
2. Coal and oil nonrenewable resources, because when we use them up, they are gone forever.
3. Some things that can be recycled are paper, glass, plastic, and cans.
